There’s no running from the need to be sustainable to protect our planet, and Burj2Burj is committed to taking steps to lesson our impact as an event.
Events can be challenging to host without causing environmental impact, however we’re taking every step possible to ensure this race doesn’t negatively impact the race we’re all on towards sustainability.
WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW?
We’re located on the Metro route to minimise car travel to and from the event and have a plastic-free solution to the waste of water bottles. Food and materials will be recycled and there is an audit of the impact of our event preparation and production that will help shape future years events.
This applies to our production partners and sponsors, whose services and support for the event will mandate that all follow sustainable best practice, and put in place plans to shift to better solutions in order to remain our partners.
HOW WILL WE IMPROVE AND PROVE WHAT WE DO?
What we can’t save and deliver without waste we will be offsetting – the challenge of which will grow as we attract more international runners and interest in the following years.
